Full Day Charter FAQs
Why choose a full day charter over half day?
With 8 hours on the water, you can fish through multiple tide changes, which significantly increases your chances of finding actively feeding salmon. We also have time to travel to more distant, less-pressured fishing spots around Quadra Island and Discovery Passage.
What time does the full day charter depart?
We typically depart at 6:00 AM from Discovery Harbour Marina to take advantage of the early morning bite. The exact time may vary slightly based on tide conditions - we'll confirm your departure time when you book.
How many fish can I keep on a full day trip?
Daily limits are set by DFO regulations and vary by species and season. Typically you can keep 2-4 salmon per person depending on the species. We'll brief you on current regulations before we start fishing.
What happens if the weather turns bad during the trip?
Safety is our priority. If conditions become unsafe, we'll head to protected waters or return to port. If we need to cut the trip short due to weather, we'll discuss rescheduling or partial refund options.
Is lunch included on the full day charter?
We provide bottled water, coffee, and light snacks. For an 8-hour trip, we recommend bringing your own lunch and any beverages you prefer. There's a cooler on board to keep everything fresh.
Can beginners handle a full day on the water?
Most people do great on full day trips. Our boat has a heated cabin, comfortable seating, and an onboard washroom. If you're prone to seasickness, consider taking medication before departure. We fish in relatively protected waters.
What species will we target on a full day charter?
We target all five Pacific salmon species - Chinook, Coho, Sockeye, Chum, and Pink - depending on the season. We also catch Lingcod and Rockfish. Chinook are available year-round, with peak season July-September.
